Hello! My name is Shalon Frye and I am the seventh thru twelfth grade counselor here at Dunkerton.
I live on a farm northeast of Independence with my husband, Scott, and our three sons, Carson, Jaxson,
and Dickson. I manage to stay very busy raising a seven year old, a four year old and a new baby, helping my
husband with daily farm life (mostly running errands!), and working full time. I also enjoy reading, taking pictures,
painting and decorating, and singing when I have a moments free time. I am also very involved with my boys' school
life and making sure they are kept very busy!
This is my second year at Dunkerton High School. I came to Dunkerton from the Cedar Valley Catholic Schools in Waterloo
where I served as a preschool thru twelfth grade counselor for three years. Prior to working in Waterloo, I attended
UNI to obtain my Master's Degree in school counseling. I also taught third and fourth grade in Independence and did a
lot of subbing in area schools while getting my Master's Degree.
I am very excited to be spending another year with the kids and staff at Dunkerton. I LOVE
being a member of this "family" and hope this year is just as wonderful as my first! Please feel free to stop in
and say "hi" anytime. If there is anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to call or email me.
My contact information is listed on my home page.
